The record books at the University of Oregon may have to be updated when the 2013 season is over. That’s because wide receivers Josh Huff and Bralon Addison are both on pace to break the school record for receiving yards in a season, set back in 1970 by Bob Newland.
Huff, that faster of the two standout receivers, has 552 receiving yards and five touchdowns so far in 2013. Addison, who is shiftier and more elusive, has 503 receiving yards and six touchdowns. With how well quarterback Marcus Mariota is throwing the ball, both players have a shot of breaking the mark of 1,123 yards.
The dynamic duo has is already the first pair in school history to have 100 yards receiving in the same game more than once in a season.
Expect to see Huff and Addison put up big numbers when the Ducks host the Washington State Cougars this weekend. Although they played well through the first three quarters last weekend, the Washington State defense was torched by Oregon State’s Sean Mannion in the fourth quarter and ended up surrendering 496 passing yards to the Beavers.
