The Miami Dolphins had signed defensive tackle Marvin Austin in hopes of bolstering their depth along the front seven, but it didn’t take long for the team to move on and waive the former New York Giant.
Miami announced today that they would be parting ways with the 2011 second-round pick after just three weeks, where he was active twice and saw just 26 snaps.
During his time on the field, Austin was able to record a mere one tackle.
As a highly touted defensive prospect out of North Carolina, Austin has failed to live up to expectations but he will likely get another shot at sticking on roster due to his untapped talent.
Austin was cut from the Giants in the final round of cuts before the start of the regular season, so you know that he is right on the edge of being a 53-man roster candidate.
If you are a team that is thin along the defensive front, then Austin would be worth a look, but in no way should you expect an impact player.
