Brazil has already qualified for the World Cup simply by being the host, like they wouldn’t have qualified anyways. Anyways, while the rest of the world is stressing about their World Cup qualifying games during the international break, Brazil was simply just playing some friendlies.
On Tuesday, they played African nation Zambia in Beijing. As the first half was winding down the ball was headed out of Zambia’s box towards Brazil’s Neymar. The referee was blowing the whistle to signal the end of the half, but Neymar decided to kick the ball on goal anyways.
Zambia’s Emmanuel Mbola was standing between him and the goal. The ball went directly at Mbola’s nuts and he dropped to the his knees quickly. his teammates weren’t hapy and got in Neymar’s face but he did the shoulder shrug with his hands out, not understanding while they were frustrated.
In the clip below he is seen hugging and talking to a Zambia player before leaving the pitch so it appears tempers calmed down. I don’t know if it is necessarily that big of a deal. NBA players do stuff like this after the whistle all the time and it was most likely an accident.
At least I’m giving Neymar the benefit of the doubt that it was an accident.
