Four-star wide receiver Jalen Brown announced on Monday night that he’s decided to commit to the University of Oregon. The 6-foot-1, 186-pound Brown was named the Gatorade Arizona Football Player of the Year after recording 67 catches for 1,235 yards and 18 touchdowns as a junior. He plans to graduate from Phoenix Mountain Point High School in December in order to enroll at Oregon early.
Brown selected the Ducks over the Arizona Wildcats, Wisconsin Badgers, Vanderbilt Commodores, and Oregon State Beavers.
According the Phoenix Mountain coach Norris Vaughn, the Ducks will be getting a very mature player in Brown:
He has matured with the process and he’s ready to go on with the next stage. He really is ready right now, academically, physically and emotionally. A lot of kids are not ready for that emotionally. He is ready (AZ Central).
Brown is the fifth four-star recruit in Oregon’s 2014 class. Rivals ranks the Oregon recruiting class as the 39th-best in the nation.
