Panama vs. United States final score: USMNT nets to stoppage time goals to save El Tri

The United States entered tonight’s World Cup qualifier against Panama with nothing to gain, but they could play savior to the neighbors down south and that is exactly how it all went down. Panama was able to net the early lead and again get the one goal advantage late in the second half, but the USMNT heroics came through for the win and to save Mexico from elimination.

As Mexico was losing to Costa Rica and the USMNT was tied with Panama, it was all downhill for El Tri.

However, the United States scored an unbelievable stoppage time goal off the head of Graham Zusi to save Mexico and send them to the play-off game against New Zealand. To add on to thee heartbreak for Panama and their fans, Aron Jóhannsson sunk the dagger in the final minute to give the United States a 3-2 win.

It was unbelievable to watch it all play out and the crowds in both stadiums were absolutely incredible.

Much to the dismay of USMNT fans, El Tri now remains alive and can clinch a World Cup berth with a win over New Zealand.

This is why we all love sports.
