Paraguay is mathematically eliminated from making the World Cup. At the same time Colombia has locked up a World Cup berth and currently sit in second place in the CONMEBOL table. The only thing that Colombia is playing for is that second position. Ecuador and Chile both sit two points behind Colombia.
That doesn’t mean that this game isn’t worth watching. If Colombia doesn’t trot out a bunch of younger and less experienced players you can see one of the best goal scorers in the world in AS Monaco’s Radamel Falcao. You might remember him from last year’s Atletico Madrid’s squad that won the Copa Del Rey.
In their World Cup clinching win against Chile, Falcao scored twice from the penalty spot to draw with Chile 3-3. It is Colombia’s first World Cup berth since 1998.
