Rory McIlroy didn’t put together as strong of a 2013 as he would have liked, but that’s no reason to lose confidence in him. At least that’s what Tiger Woods said when he was recently asked about McIlroy’s struggles:
He’s had a lot of things going on this year He hasn’t played as well as he has in prior years, but he’s still ranked pretty high (No. 6). A lot of guys don’t even get that high.
I think … give him a little bit more time. I think he’s starting to put the pieces together, starting to play a little bit more. He showed some really good signs towards the end of the season that the things he’s working on are starting to come together (USA Today Sports).
McIlroy has had to deal with a lot of criticism and scrutiny this year on topics ranging from his choice of equipment to his relationship with tennis star Caroline Wozniacki. Hopefully McIlroy will be able to tune out the distractions and have a more successful 2014.
