Andy Dalton stepping up his game after early slump

After drawing heavy criticism in the past three weeks, Bengals quarterback Andy Dalton bounced back with authority this past week, and has been named the AFC’s offensive player of the week for his play in the Bengals’ 27-24 Week Six victory over the Buffalo Bills. Dalton went 4/4 for 55 yards in overtime and was able to lead the team into position for kicker Mike Nugent’s game-winning field goal on the team’s second possession of OT, propelling the Bengals to their first outright lead of the AFC North since the end of the 2009 season.
Dalton finished the game 26/40 for 337 yards and three touchdowns. It is the second time that Dalton has picked up weekly honors in the conference.
While many will point to the 249 yards his receivers picked up after the catch on Sunday, Dalton did a great job of managing the game and making the play when his team needed it most.
