The New England Patriots defense is already wounded with the losses of defensive tackle Vince Wilfork and linebacker Jerod Mayo, but they could be down yet another player on Sunday when they face off against the New York Jets.

Cornerback Aqib Talib, who has been at the top of his game, has been out of practice and is now unlikely to play in the Week 7 match up.

According to a league source who spoke to Pro Football Talk, Talib is unlikely to play due to the hip flexor strain that he suffered last week against the New Orleans Saints.

It is another devastating blow to the Patriots defense as they will be without three of their top stars, so they will need someone to desperately step up and fill the voids on the defense in order to slow down rookie quarterback Geno Smith and get yet another win this season.

If the defense falters, then the Patriots could very well be on upset alert.
