Blade Runner gets an interesting Retro Noir makeover in a new fan-made trailer.
Director Ridley Scott’s 1982 film starring Harrison Ford is based off of the novel Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep? by Philip K. Dick. The film already has many aspects of film noir in it; however, this is only further brought to light by the new trailer created by Chet Desmond.
On his YouTube page, he clarified his intentions with the trailer.
This isn’t meant to be a radical re-imagining of the film or a recreation of a 40′s-style trailer. As many have pointed out, Blade Runner is already very “Noir.” I just wanted to take those aspects of the film and accentuate them into something hopefully interesting.”
The piano song used in the fan made trailer is “Memories of Green” from the original Blade Runner soundtrack by Vangelis.
This is definitely an interesting spin on an already classic film. It manages to give the film a new feel. Strangely enough, this is something that I would actually be interested in seeing if anyone were to ever venture to remake the film in this style.
