Denver Nuggets forward Kenneth Faried suffers injured hamstring

Hamstring injuries are never fun as they often start out minor and eventually escalate into nagging problems, which is why the Denver Nuggets were less than pleased to see forward Kenneth Faried go down with one during Thursday’s practice.

Per Chris Dempsey:

#Nuggets F Kenneth Faried suffered a right hamstring strain in practice today. He’ll be evaluated again tomorrow & is officially day-to-day

Faried, who has a game built off athleticism certainly won’t be himself with a nagging hamstring injury, though at least initially the strain doesn’t appear to be too bad.

It’s likely, given how quickly hamstring problems can escalate, the Nuggets will give him a couple days off after re-evaluating him on Friday afternoon. Of course, the Nuggets under a somewhat revamped roster and new coach in Brian Shaw would prefer to have everybody on the court at the same time, but that’s likely not a risk worth taking at this point.

If Faried is to miss any time, J.J. Hickson would likely fill in.
