Cameron “The Beast” Wake is one of those guys you don’t want to see lined up across from you as either an offensive tackle/guard or coming at you no matter if you’re a quarterback or running back.
Wake has always been an explosive pass rusher even when he was in Canada. He spent two seasons with the British Columbia Lions and recorded 39 sacks in both of those seasons. He also won Most Outstanding Rookie Award in 2007.
You would have to think that the New York Giants are kicking themselves right now as he was a member of their practice squad in 2005.
He finally returned back to the NFL in 2009 after landing with the Miami Dolphins and ever since then, he’s been one of the best pass rushers in the game. In five seasons with the Miami Dolphins, the former Penny State alumni has recorded 45.5 sacks and 180 tackles.
This Sunday he’s going to be put up against a quarterback who is currently dealing with a foot injury. He was all over Brandon Weeden in Miami’s game against Cleveland and should do the same to Thaddeus Lewis on Sunday.
If I’m Lewis, I’m praying that this offensive line protects him. But with a guy like Wake and him coming back after missing two games, this man’s hungry.
