Danny Granger suffered a strained left calf in exhibition game

It doesn’t matter if you’re a teammate, fan or owner of this organization, this is the news you do not want to hear during the pre-season.

Guard Danny Granger left tonight’s exhibition game against the Chicago Bulls with a strained left calf and did not return to the game. This is the second time he’s sustained this injury and is clearly not his old self.

Which should be worrisome for those who happen to run this organization. The talent they have on the bench has proven to be enough to reach the Eastern Conference Finals. But if this team was hoping to reach that next level, they needed their veteran guard in Danny Granger to remain healthy.

No official word on how this will effect Granger, but he should be listed day to day if not be out for the remainder of the pre-season and may miss a week or two of the regular season.

Granger finished the game scoring 11 points, hitting three-three pointers and was four of seven from the field. He only played 16 minutes.
