Kobe Bryant’s recovery has been the top story during the off-season, and now that we are nearing opening day, Kobe’s status for opening night is a hot topic. He has said he would play if this were the Finals or the playoffs, that he would play. Kobe is doing light work during practice, and he is still waiting clearance for 5-0n-5 contact during practice. Well, we can now see Kobe shooting again thanks to Lakers.com’s own Mike Trudell:
This was before the Lakers’ game on Friday in Shanghai against the Warriors, and as you can see he is getting a little lift on his shot. I have no doubt that Kobe Bryant is putting every ounce of his being into this recovery, and if he could decide, he would play opening night. Naysayers are out there and are against him playing opening night, but this is Kobe. He does things and plays through things that others wouldn’t even fathom attempting to do. His obsession is psychotic when it comes to the game of basketball, so if he does play, it should surprise no one.
It’s good to see Kobe out there and shooting again, and we will likely see him early in the 2013-14 season.
