According to Jesse Sanchez of MLB.com, Cuban right-hander Dalier Hinojosa’s deal is for $42.5 million. Jon Heyman of CBS Sports reported earlier today that the Red Sox will pay the 27 year-old a $4 million bonus.
Hinojosa will join the American League East champion Red Sox on a minor league contract, according to Baseball America’s Ben Badler. Furthermore, the deal won’t count against Boston’s international spending cap because of Hinojosa’s age.
