Florida DL Damien Jacobs out today against Missouri

The injury woes for the Florida Gators continue as ESPN has announced that defensive lineman Damien Jacobs will be out today in the team’s showdown against the red-hot Missouri Tigers.

According to the report, Jacobs did not even make the trip to Columbia, Mo. after he suffered a head injury last weekend in the Gators’ 17-6 loss to LSU.

This absence marks a total of seven starters that Florida has lost this season, a list which includes some key players such as starting QB Jeff Driskel, DT Dominique Easley and LB Ronald Powell.

With the news, Missouri has to like their chances of staying undefeated and continuing their march toward their first SEC championship in just their second year in the conference. They had a huge upset last week against another depleted roster in the Georgia Bulldogs, and it seems like it could be shaping up to be more of the same today for head coach Gary Pinkel and company.

Also of note, Florida QB Tyler Murphy is said to be a little banged up as well, but he’ll be good to go.
