After last week’s loss to Missouri at home, the Georgia Bulldogs are looking for any kind of good news to help get them back on track after suffering that second loss of the season. This is a roster that has been crushed by injuries, some of them rendering players done for the rest of the season.
Fortunately, one of those injuries that was not season-ending was that of running back Todd Gurley, who has been nursing an ankle injury he’s been suffering since the huge win over LSU a few weeks ago. Eventually, he will return to help the Dawgs.
But, it appears that today won’t be that day.
According to Marc Weiszer of the Athens Banner-Herald, as the Bulldogs get set to face off against Vanderbilt in just a little under an hour, Gurley doesn’t seem to be ready to go today:
Sure looks like TB Todd Gurley will miss third straight game with ankle injury. He’s standing around near locker room as teammates warm up.

As Weiszer said, this marks the third consecutive week that Georgia will be without their bruising ball carrier. At first this wasn’t that big of an issue due to the fact that backup Keith Marshall was almost just as effective as Gurley in some situations. However, Marshall went down with a season-ending injury against Tennessee a few weeks ago, leaving the Dawgs without much depth at running back.
