When he wasn’t abusing opposing high schools on the hardwood, LeBron James was doing it on the gridiron as an All-State wide receiver.
The international icon was highly recruited out of high school as a football player, but a broken wrist ended his senior season before it began, leading to James to enter the NBA rather than attend college in a different capacity. It was a pretty solid choice, as we all know now, but that doesn’t mean football is out of James’ blood.
The Miami Heat star is often seen at NFL games, recently spotted in Dallas dunking on the goalpost and suggested that he’d like to play in one NFL ‘before it’s over’:
While we’ve seen two-sport athletes like Deion Sanders and Bo Jackson, nobody has ever come out of the NBA to play in the NFL – namely because finding a player who would fit into both sports at a professional level is a bit difficult. If anybody would fit that mold though, it would be James and I’d personally be shocked if he didn’t suit up for at least one game before his career comes to an end.
