Over these past couple weeks I’ve really taken an interest in the Missouri Tigers. They aren’t a team I have watched very often in the past, but they have a fun aura about them and they are the upstarts to challenge in the SEC. Anybody challenging in the SEC who isn’t Alabama makes me want to watch.
With the injury to James Franklin, my interest has only heightened and I am very intrigued as to what’s about to happen today as the Florida Gators go into Faurot Field.
Are the Tigers for real without their leader?
Is Maty Mauk all that he was brought in to be (that would be the future of the program)?
Will the coaching staff go exclusively with Mauk or will they look to Corbin Berkstresser to make some plays, possibly in short yardage?
Really the only thing we know for sure is that Franklin will be in street clothes cheering on his Tigers (and desperately hoping he can get back on the field in a few weeks). Mauk will get the start and is likely the guy with which the Tigers will live and die over the next few weeks.
His future came earlier than expected, which means the Tigers’ future starts now.
