Early in the second half, the 11th-ranked South Carolina Gamecocks are locked in a tight SEC battle with the Tennessee Volunteers on the road in Knoxville.
Part of the reason that the Gamecocks have enjoyed their success, not just this season, but the last few, has been the superb play of QB Connor Shaw. While he’s a bit injury prone due to not always knowing when to slide nor run out of bounds, he’s considered one of the most underrated players in all of college football by many.
For example, Shaw has not thrown an INT since early November of last season. Well, with his team down 17-7 at the moment, that stat changed as of today.
Shaw threw his first interception of the season, and the first since that November game last year, early in the second half against Tennessee. On the second play of the team’s first possession of the half, the veteran QB fired that pick to Tennessee true freshman DB Cam Sutton.
That’s an impressive run. However, now the Gamecocks need to pull everything together to avoid the upset.
