Wife of Seattle Mariners' Felix Hernandez had $180K allegedly stolen by teammates wife

After making nearly $40 million dollars in the past two seasons combined, Seattle Marines ace Felix Hernandez isn’t exactly what you’d call hurting for money. But that doesn’t mean he’s cool with somebody stealing from him, which according to the Seattle Times allegedly happened after Hernandez’s wife had her debit card number stolen by a fellow wife of another Seattle Mariners player.

According to the Times, Hernandez’s wife had her identity stolen as the wife of outfielder Carlos Peguero allegedly yanked her debit card number and had over $180,000 worth of goods sent to her home:

The wife of Seattle Mariners outfielder Carlos Peguero is facing federal wire-fraud charges for allegedly using a debit card belonging to the wife of star pitcher Felix Hernandez to make nearly $180,000 in online purchases, according to sources and court documents.

Sad as it is to say, this isn’t the first case of things being stolen between ‘teammates’ though I can’t ever recall something like this happening or such a large sum at play.

If found guilty, Peguero’s wife is facing up to twenty years in prison.
