Eight weeks of games have been played, all eligible polls have been released and now we’re just a short time away from learning who is in the driver’s seat for a trip to Pasadena on January 6 and playing for the coveted BCS Championship.

Through these first eight weeks, we’ve already seen some upsets that have crushed the preseason dreams of some powerful programs, plus some teams from outside the traditional grouping trying to make a run at BCS glory in its final season before the College Football Playoff Committee takes over next season.

So, who will be the front runners for eventually capturing that crystal ball when the initial BCS rankings for 2013 are released in a few hours? Let’s take a look:
