Devin Hester has done it again. It’s used to be a seemingly weekly highlight, Hester making a guy miss and outrunning the rest of the coverage team for a high-stepping touchdown, but it’s been a while since we’ve seen this man truly affect a football game in the return game.
Hester just tied up the game against the Washington Redskins with an 81 yarder.
This return is specifically important for this game based on the fact that Chicago’s starting quarterback Jay Cutler was knocked out of the game earlier. The Bears need this game to at least stay tied atop the NFC North with Detroit. The Lions are currently losing to the Cincinnati Bengals 14-10 at halftime.
The feat also is the 19th time in the great career of Hester that he’s taken a kickoff or punt to the house, tying him with Deion Sanders atop the NFL record books.
The Redskins just took a 24-17 lead late in the second quarter, can Hester do it again?
