New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski is back and healthy. Early in the first quarter, he caught his first pass of the game. It was an 11 yard reception for a first down on 2nd and ten.

A routine play, but good to see that he is back. He takes on three New York Jets defenders on the play. As he crosses the first down line three players throw their wait into him but he still manages to fall forward.

Gronkowski had said that he wished to be out there with his teammates last week and that it was tough to sit out.

“Obviously I want to be out there,” Gronkowski said Thursday, via the Boston Herald. “I love the game of football. I love playing. I love playing the game. It’s great being out there with my teammates, practicing out there, getting on the same page, getting the chemistry down. We’ll see.

“When my number is called, when I’m ready to go, I’m going to be out there rolling like I have been before, so I can’t wait. I’m excited.”

He is playing like he is excited so far. It is still early in the game though.
