Chicago Bears’ Brandon Marshall says Brandon Meriweather should be removed from NFL
By Bryan Rose
The NFL is reportedly set to suspend Washington Redskins safety Brandon Meriweather for repeated blows to the head, something that Chicago Bears wide receiver Brandon Marshall will likely be thrilled with. But if Marshall had his way, it’s possible Meriweather wouldn’t even be in the NFL as he recently suggested that the NFL should suspend Meriweather or even take it a step further and kick him out of the league:
"“I respect the league trying to better our game,” Marshall said following Chicago’s 45-41 loss. “Guys like that, maybe he needs to get suspended or taken out of the game completely.”"
It’s a strong statement from Marshall, though one that many would likely back him up on.
Meriweather has played completely reckless this season, leading with his helmet far too often – not only putting other players health at risk, but his as well as we’ve seen the Redskins’ safety knocked out as a result of his own hits.
Meriweather hit Marshall flush in the head on Sunday afternoon, which resulted in the strong comments.
