The worst fears for the Indianapolis Colts were confirmed today when they found out that star WR Reggie Wayne did suffer a torn ACL in last night’s emotional win over the returning Peyton Manning and the Denver Broncos. The receiver went down with a non-contact injury in the second half of the contest and was seen being taken back to the locker room in tears.

Wayne has proven to be one of the most durable, reliable receivers in the game as this now snaps his streak of 189 straight games. Wayne was trying to haul in a pass from QB Andrew Luck when the knee buckled, which left him on the ground and Colts fans silent.

Last night’s victory pushed the Colts to 5-2 on the year, but now they’re going to have to rally the rest of the season around their injured star wideout as they continue their quest for the playoffs for a second straight year.
