Texas QB David Ash ruled out for TCU game

Still feeling the lingering effects of a head injury, Texas Longhorns starting quarterback David Ash will miss his third straight game this week when his team faces off against the TCU Horned Frogs.

Texas has won their last two outings without the junior Ash at quarterback, the down-to-the-wire contest against Iowa State and then last weekend’s rout of the Oklahoma Sooners in the Red River Rivalry. Both games were manned under center by Case McCoy.

There’s still no official word nor timetable on when Ash may be able to return to the field. However, with each game the starter misses, the concern continues to grow exponentially.

With this news, McCoy will get the start once again and there have also been whispers that the ‘Horns are beginning to toy with the idea of giving freshman Tyrone Swoopes some game-time snaps, in a look toward the future.
