Baylor Bears not focused on BCS rankings

Sporting the most exciting and explosive offense in the nation, the Baylor Bears have become one of the most frequently discussed teams in college football this year. Baylor’s dominating performances have earned them the No. 8 spot in the first BCS poll, but head coach Art Briles is not keen on having his team talking about the high ranking.

Said Briles:

We won’t address it. Our job is to go out and play as a football team and stay in the moment and win the task at hand. The other stuff we can’t control. But we can control how we play.

He continued:

What have we done? We’ve played six games. Everybody else has played seven or eight. We’re fortunate to have won six. If you want to get excited about something do something. Right now we’re surviving. You look up at the end and there’s two or three people who made it (Waco Tribune).

The Bears will take on the Kansas Jayhawks this upcoming Saturday.
