NBA GM Poll: Heat to repeat; LeBron MVP

Anthony Gruppuso-USA TODAY Sports

From the looks of it, NBA general managers are predicting the same results as everyone else for the upcoming NBA season.

According to ESPN, in a poll of all 30 NBA GMs conducted by NBA.com, the Miami Heat were chosen to win their third title in a row, while Heat forward Lebron James was selected to win his second straight NBA MVP.

If James wins another MVP, he will join greats Michael Jordan and Bill Russell with five MVPs. Only Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, who won six, has more.

Also based on the poll, Houston Rocket James Harden was voted best shooting guard, the first time in the 12-year history of the survey that Lakers star Kobe Bryant was not selected.

The GMs also voted Orlando’s Victor Oladipo as most likely to win rookie of the year.

The GM also selected the Heat to win the championship last year. This year, the Indiana Pacers and San Antonio Spurs were tied for second most likely to win the championship.
