This afternoon a new featurette containing a behind the scenes look at the upcoming film Oldboy has been released.

The remake of the 2003 Japanese film of the same name is being directed by Spike Lee.

In Oldboy, an advertising agent by the name of Joe Doucett, played by Josh Brolin, is inexplicably kidnapped. When he wakes up, he is in an inescapable hotel room. He’ll remain there for the next 20 years of his life.

Imagine the torture of being forced to live your life in an unfamiliar “hotel” that is essentially a prison with no human contact and absolutely no idea when or if you are ever going to get out.

After his twenty years are up, he is released with absolutely no explanation for what happened to him. Once he is released, he embarks on a mission that borders on obsession to discover who it was that set his imprisonment into motion and to make them pay for their actions.

Ask not why you were imprisoned. Ask why you were set free.” The film’s official tagline reads.

In the featurette released today, the cast talks a little bit about the story and the struggles that they have gone through to create the thriller.

Here is a look at the featurette courtesy of ComingSoon.net.

Oldboy is scheduled to be released on November 27, 2013
