Quarterback Jeff Garcia reached out to Cleveland Browns about comeback

Forget Tim Tebow. Forget Vince Young or JaMarcus Russell. If you’re in the market for a washed up quarterback, you’re looking towards Jeff Garcia, am I right? No? Well, crap.

Right or wrong, Garcia, who found mild success with the San Francisco 49ers and Cleveland Browns before becoming a journeyman backup recently reached out to the quarterback-needy Cleveland Browns, this according to Garcia himself.

Per Mary Kay Cabot:

Former #browns QB Jeff Garcia told @923TheFan bull and fox that he reached out to #browns, told them he’s ready to come back, play QB here.

Now, I’m not sure there are many worse alternatives to Brandon Weeden, however, a 43-year-old quarterback who’s been out of the league for two years (and more than that, realistically)? Yeah, that’s a downgrade.

There was no word on if the Browns ever got back to Garcia, though, to have been a fly on the wall in that conversation, eh? Not actually to hear the conversation, but just to look at Garcia’s wife, Carmella DeCesare, who I’m sure was looming around.

    Seriously? Garcia?
The guy is washed up and hasn’t played in about 4 years. Did you ever see his stats?
He fumbled as much as Weeden throws passes to opposing team.
    Where would improvement be?
