With the news on Monday that Percy Harvin was working out with Russell Wilson, the Seattle Seahawks got a new jolt of life in their already potent offense. The news that Michael Robinson is coming back to the Hawks broke on Tuesday, a popular move and terrific one for the organization.
If there was one guy happier to hear the news than anyone else, it was Russell Wilson.
Wilson has history with Robinson, trust. Not that trust wasn’t being built between himself, Derrick Coleman and Spencer Ware, but it’s different. Robinson was part of the first playoff run, making some big plays in the passing game, big blocks in the run game and a couple saves on free pass rushers.
Harvin is an exciting addition to the offense. He and Wilson were beginning to get a very solid rapport before the inevitable injury. If Harvin can stay healthy this time, it’s going to be fun.
We may see Wilson with a sense of ease on Monday and not just because the Rams are incapable of beating the Seahawks without their quarterback. Simply, he won’t have to run as much, he can get the ball out to Harvin and the rest of the receivers and let them do their thing. Then if that doesn’t work, he can dump the ball off to Marshawn or the very sure-handed Robinson. Only after that will he need to take it into his own hands.
Breathe easier Russell Wilson.
