The Cincinnati Bengals announced yesterday that cornerback Leon Hall has been placed on the season-ending injured reserve list and free-up a roster spot. The Bengals have already said they don’t plan to sign a free agent, but they may be forced to, and one player they could look to bring in a player who spent the last two years on the team and made a strong push for a spot on the final 53-man roster.

That man is now-former Eagles CB Shawn Prater:

Prater, a 2012 fifth-round draft pick out of Iowa, suffered a knee injury during his rookie campaign in the preseason that landed him on season-ending IR. After a good-showing in this year’s training camp, he was one of the final cuts after the Bengals simply had too-many other cornerbacks on their roster.

The Bengals cut him but appeared to try to get him through waivers to their practice squad, but the Philadelphia Eagles swooped in and snatched him away.
