After starting the season 4-0 and garnering some national attention, the Washington Huskies have dropped three consecutive games, two of which were blowouts. Now, with a game against the California Golden Bears coming up, it turns out the Huskies may be without quarterback Keith Price.
The Washington quarterback has been dealing with a thumb injury this season, and the it appears the injury was further aggravated against the Arizona State Sun Devils.
Here’s what head coach Steve Sarkisian had to say about the situation:
We’ll assess him tomorrow. He’s sore. His thumb is swollen, but I know Keith Price is a tough guy, he’s a fighter, and he’s going to do everything in his power to be prepared and ready to play come Saturday night.
Again, I’ve known Keith for over five years now, and he’s a tough kid. He’s going to prepare himself mentally, emotionally, and physically to be ready to play. We’ll have to figure out if that’s good enough (The Seattle Times).
If Price is unable to go this weekend, he’ll be replaced by freshman Cyler Miles. Miles has attempted eight passes on the season and has one touchdown.
