Texas QB Case McCoy blames himself for team being underdog against TCU

It’s been no secret that few people are enthusiastic about Case McCoy being completely in charge of the Texas offense. Even after the impressive victory over the Oklahoma Sooners in the Red River Rivalry two weeks ago, some still credited that more to the ineptitude of the Sooners defense than McCoy’s performance.

The thing is, McCoy knows this, of course he does. In today’s world of social media and such, he can hear some of the cries for either freshman Tyrone Swoopes to be given a chance or for injured starter David Ash to recover and get back in the game.

Fact is though, McCoy will be the starter under center this week when the Longhorns come off their bye week to take on the TCU Horned Frogs, another fledgling Big 12 program at the moment.

Despite the fact that TCU has struggled just as much, if not more than their in-state rival, they’re still favored in the game.

And, McCoy believes he knows why. It’s because he’ll be taking the field:

If anything, you have to admire the young man taking it all in stride.
