TUF Brazil 3 coaches: Chael Sonnen vs. Wanderlei Silva

Dana White was on Fox Sports Live last night discussing all things UFC and he certainly delivered the goods. Dana announced that The Ultimate Fighter Brazil 3 will be coached by Chael Sonnen vs Wanderlei Silva.

The two heated rivals have held mutual disdain for one another for quite a long time. Ever since Chael was positioning himself towards a title shot against Anderson Silva, he has been notorious for bashing Brazilian fighters. Wanderlei Silva was one of the fighters Chael consistently bashed. In the past Chael has called Wanderlei’s wins and records in Pride FC a farce.

Wanderelei has not taken kindly to Chael’s insults, and their rivarly has been continually escalating. The fight between them seemed to be an absolute lock, and then word came out that Wanderlei would not do the fight without PPV points. Days later, Rashad Evans and Chael Sonnen were set to fight at UFC 167 and the rivalry with Wanderlei seemed to fizzle out. A few weeks later Wanderlei and Chael had a confrontation at the 2013 Olympia Fitness & Performance Expo in Las Vegas. Chael’s response to the incident was that it was an ambush and that Wanderlei is a distraction in his preparation for Rashad Evans.

Now, about 2 weeks before fighting Evans, Dana announces that he will fight Wanderlei after coaching along side him in Brazil for The Ultimate Fighter! Pretty unbelievable series of events for Chael Sonnen. Will this news affect his performance at UFC 167? Sound in the comments below.
