This Saturday, longtime SEC rivals Alabama and Tennessee will kick-off one of the most anticipated games of the college football season, though the battle is already starting to take place between fans.

According to CBS Sports, the famed ‘Rock’ at Tennessee University was painted in crimson by Alabama fans, who decided it was time to start the prank wars.

Per CBS:

And short of kidnapping Smokey, it’s hard to think of a better rivalry week prank from Tide fans than painting Tennessee’s famous campus landmark “The Rock” — a kind of public Volunteer moodring/graffiti board, but cooler — in Tide colors and anti-Tennessee sentiment.

The rock was nearly covered in crimson red while ‘Roll Tide’ and ‘Go 2 Hell TN’ was spray painted in white.

Of course, the rock is often painted on so it’s not as if the fans defaced something in an illegal fashion, though I’m sure this didn’t exactly create any smiles on the Volunteers campus.

Should be interesting to see what Tennessee fans come up with in the next few days as you know retaliation is inevitable.
