The Colts Win Proves Jim Irsay Right

Last week, Indianapolis Colts owner Jim Irsay unnecessarily added fuel to the fire for the much-anticipated return of Peyton Manning. He made some accurate, but unwarranted, statements hinting to the lack of post-season success the team had with Manning as to why he chose to release the future HOF’er and go with Andrew Luck going forward.  The Colts 39-33 win over the Broncos boosted the Colts favor in a lot of minds but make no mistake; this win was much bigger for the Colts than the loss was for the Broncos. The win for Indy has some sites ranking the Colts as the #1 team in the Power Rankings off of this win.  That’s a bit hasty, in my opinion, considering after losing Reggie Wayne in the game how long can they possibly keep that ranking anyway? The fact is that the decision of Irsay’s to cut Manning and move forward with Luck can only be determined a success if it translates into post-season success just like Irsay suggested Manning wasn’t giving them. That remains to be seen.
