FC Copenhagen has the unenviable task of traveling to Turkey to play Galatasaray. The Turkish stadium was once the world record holder for loudest crowd and their fans have been known to be very passionate, almost to a fault. Both Copenhagen and Galatasaray sit at the bottom of the Group B table and the loser of this game could be destined to finish group play at the bottom and out of a European tournament.
“We are starting to look like a team that is gradually improving,” Copenhagen’s Stale Solbakken said, via ESPN FC. ”We were very mentally fragile when I arrived but I think the players are starting to get stronger.”
Again, winning in Turkey will be easier said than done. Galatasaray is ready for the match.
“We started badly by losing points against Real Madrid, but we earned one in Turin,” Galatasaray goalkeeper Fernando Muslera said. ”We tackle a Copenhagen side that are in good shape but we feel strong heading into the match.”
His head coach agrees.
“Copenhagen are a good team. They have a good defense and are good on the counter-attack,” Roberto Mancini said. ”There are no easy matches in the Champions League.”
