The last time Greg Oden scored any type of points in the NBA was 2009 – nearly four years ago.

That changed tonight as the former Ohio State star took part in the Miami Heat’s game against the New Orleans Pelicans and sent his teammates into a frenzy thanks to a second quarter dunk.

Oden, who posted up (if you will) in the key received an entry pass from Chris Bosh.

Clearly a little antsy, Oden can be seen shuffling his feet a bit, though, still was able to calm him self enough to rise up and thunder down a dunk over the Pelicans’ defender. In doing so, the Miami Heat bench rose up out of their seats and could be seen cheering on Oden as he rushed back down the court, towels waiving in the process.

A few weeks back we were told that Oden dunked for the first time during practice, so he’s slowly getting back his skills – hopefully he’s able to stay healthy and maintain them.

Impressive as his dunk was, it was clearly shadowed by this amazing play from LeBron James and Dwyane Wade which took place earlier in the game.

Below is Oden slamming it down:
