Jonny Gomes will start in left field, David Ross will be behind the plate in Game 1 vs STL

The World Series is finally here and the game will kick off in just a little while.

With the teams preparing to go back to battle with each other for the fourth time in World Series history, Jonny Gomes and David Ross will be in the starting lineup for the Boston Red Sox.

Gomes, a veteran outfielder will man the Green Monster and left field as the Red Sox are 6-0 with Gomes in the lineup.

That’s something surely to look for, especially in the biggest series of them all. When it comes to the catchers spot, David Ross gets the nod over Jarrod Saltalamacchia with Jon Lester starting the game for the Red Sox.

Salty’s bat could be missed as right handed stud Adam Wainwright is set to take the mound for the Red Birds from the Midwest in Game 1 of this series.

The decision came because of how well Lester and Ross have worked together so far this season/post-season.
