Philadelphia 76ers players have unique 'WHOP' handshake (Video)

The Philadelphia 76ers may only have ‘six NBA players’ on their roster, but dammit, they certainly aren’t going to lose any handshake battles.

Team ‘WHOP’ as they’re call themselves – a collection of players including Michael Carter-Williams, Tony Wroten, Vander Blue and Khalif Wyatt have come up with a unique handshake, because, well, I’m not actually sure to be honest.

The Sixers are going to be one of the worst teams in the NBA this season, so, I guess working on a choreographed handshake is more important than working on your jumper since it’s not going to matter much this season.

The handshake features a bit of smacking the back of your hands together with your teammate, while finishing with some thigh smacking. Why exactly they felt the need to put this on video, let alone publish it to the world I’ll never know but it was certainly amusing – in a weird, somewhat sad kind of way.

Doug Collins is sitting back drinking a margarita thrilled he’s no longer dealing with this.
