I’m not sure why a Boston Celtics fan (wearing a Ray Allen jersey, of all things) would show up to a Q&A session for Toronto Raptors season ticket holders, but that’s exactly what happened recently.
The Raptors were holding a season preview event where CEO Tim Leiweke was taking fan questions when an audience members, complete in his Allen jersey, made his way down to the seats. The show MC’s took notice of the fan and called him out, giving him grief for the faux pas. The awkward situation died down until Leiweke made his way on stage, asking the crowd ‘Where’s that guy with the Celtics jersey’ as he panned the crowd.
Eventually coming across him, Leiweke, not missing a beat, asked him how his preseason was going, much to the delight of the Raptors crowd.
I guess you have to bark when you can, especially when you’re sending shots at a rival who has more rings than a jewelry store.
The Raptors are 5-1 this season while the struggling Celtics are a woeful 1-6.
