As LeBron James and Dwyane Wade showed us last night, what better time to showboat than in the last couple games of your preseason?

Apparently, Los Angeles Clippers power forward Blake Griffin got the memo, though, in all honesty, he does this in regular season games too – but that doesn’t take away from how impressive it is.

As the Clippers were hosting the Utah Jazz on Wednesday evening, Griffin, being the nice guy he is, decided he’d welcome rookie Rudy Gobert to the NBA with a baptizing dunk.

Late in the third quarter with the Jazz leading by two, Griffin and point guard Chris Paul ran a pick and roll (well, sans the pick, really) which forced the Jazz’s defense to collapse. That lead to a wide open Griffin going in for the dunk, though Gobert apparently thought he had a chance to block the shot – or at least defend it.

He thought wrong as Griffin brought down rain, much to the delight of the Los Angeles crowd.

I’ll give it to Gobert though – at least he got in there.
