San Antonio Spurs head coach Greg Popvich and TNT sideline reporter Craig Sager have a bit of a love-hate relationship. Actually, it’s more hate than love – or maybe it’s a sadistic type of thing. Either way, Popovich, who just loves himself sideline interviews continually gives Sager grief anytime the flashy suit wearing reporter attempts to ask him questions.

He did so again tonight, this time channeling his best inner Allen Iverson, replicating Iverson’s ‘practice’ speech but going with a ‘preseason’ twist.

As the TNT crew came back from commercial, they sent the feed down to Sager who already had an irritated Popovich waiting for the interview. Pop immediately began taking control of the piece, not letting Sager talk before giving random answers about finding a place to eat after the game.

To Pop’s credit, he did actually answer a basketball question which seemed to shock just about everybody, including Pop himself.

Of course, it was all in good natured fun though I’d imagine Sager probably really wonders what in the world Popovich actually thinks of him considering the always strange and awkward interviews.
