Missouri's Kony Ealy on South Carolina's Jadeveon Clowney: 'He's not god'

When you are on the verge of having one of the most successful seasons in the history of your school and can all but wrap up a spot in the most prestigious conference’s championship game with a win on Saturday, you probably wouldn’t want to call out one of the best players in college football, especially when your team is going to have the tough task of stopping that player.

Defensive end Kony Ealy of the fifth-ranked Missouri Tigers clearly doesn’t agree.

“He’s not god,” Ealy told Ross Dellenger of the Columbia Tribune when asked about South Carolina Gamecocks’ defensive end Jadeveon Clowney.

Clowney’s disappointing season – he has just two sacks this season – has been well-documented.

Ealy’s right.  Clowney isn’t god.

However, that doesn’t mean Clowney isn’t one of the best players in the country and a lock to be selected in the top five in the 2014 NFL draft.

The Tigers and Gamecocks will square off at Faurot Field in Columbia, Missouri on Saturday. The two squads will kickoff at 7:00 pm EST and the game is on ESPN2.
