Pau Gasol is concerned about the health of Los Angeles Lakers teammate Steve Nash

As the oldest player currently in the NBA, Steve Nash is in a race against father time – a race he may be losing.

Nash has missed time with injuries the past few seasons and the Lakers have said they plan to rest their point guard often just to keep him healthy as can be. However, Nash is already ailing and the preseason hasn’t even concluded, causing concern for some, including teammate Pau Gasol who recently told Dave McMenamin that he’s worried about Nash’s health:

Pau said he is a little concerned about Nash’s health. Said Steve has not been able to push himself even in practice

Gasol is coming off an injury himself (as is Kobe Bryant, of course) so there’s reason to be concerned for all parties, though Nash seems to be the most injury prone at this point. Hopefully the former NBA MVP will be able to stay relatively healthy and be a contributing player to the Lakers this season, though things are already off to a sub-par start.

I LOVE Steve Nash…met him once at the airport…great guy but he will help the Lakers very little this year…which will (or SHOULD) be his last.
