Rapper 2 Chainz inspired haircuts of some Boston Red Sox players

Yes, yes – we all know about the beards. But what about the hair on their head?

You may not have noticed, but a handful of Boston Red Sox players (say like Daniel Nava, Jake Peavy and Mike Napoli) have three lines shaved into the back of their heads, right behind the ear on the left side. It’s a bit odd and relatively unnoticeable to most, though, the keen eyed Paul Lukas of Uni Watch wondered what was up, so he did a bit of digging.

The three ‘lines’ each represent a different item and is used to represent the unofficial motto of the team, “Three Lines, 2 Chainz, One Goal”.

If that doesn’t exactly make a ton of sense to you, you’re not alone, so no worries. The reference to 2 Chainz however stems from his song, ‘I’m Different’ which has become the club anthem and is played loudly in the lockerroom after every Red Sox’s victory.

They’re hoping they can hear it three more times this year.
