This game is one that most college football fans know about, but still not a whole lot are talking about.

The Texas Tech Red Raiders are still under-appreciated, mostly because they really haven’t played anybody in the national picture through seven games. That all changes this week, as the Red Raiders head to Norman to meet the No. 15 Oklahoma Sooners.

A win on the road, in one of the toughest venues in the country no less, would legitimize undefeated Tech and bump Oklahoma from the ranks of dominance in the Big-12 conference. Meanwhile a victory by Oklahoma is crucial to their run at a Big-12 championship, after a loss to Texas two weeks ago.

It seems everybody has been waiting for this one to decide whether or not Tech is for real, myself included. The Sooners are favored at home by a touchdown and I think that’s about where I see the game too. I’d like to see Tech take it, but I think the difference will the be the physicality-shock on the front lines that OU will bring to the table, as Tech hasn’t had to play a truly physical opponent yet and may take too long to get into the game. That and a freshman quarterback starting in Norman, it just doesn’t add up to a Raider win for me.

Odds: Oklahoma by 7

Prediction: Oklahoma 34 Texas Tech 24
