There are some pretty crafty signs at NFL and NBA games, though for some reason, the MLB sign skills aren’t always up to par. Often times you might see a crafty message written on some poster board, but past that, it’s a bit rare to see something constructed or built from scratch.
But given it’s the World Series, I guess baseball fans – at least those in Boston – have been working extra hard because spotted at tonight’s Game 2 was this fantastic stick puppet of Red Sox outfielder Jonny Gomes. Even more impressive? Gomes’ stick figurine came with working arms and military headgear.
I’m going to guess that cardboard version of Gomes has been hitting the roid department a bit too much though. Look at those guns.
I know one thing. Whomever leads the props department at PTI on ESPN is totally envious of the giant-headed Gomes character right now.
Hopefully we don’t see a bunch of moving puppets behind the set next week.
